Established in 1951, Chongqing Jiaotong University (CQJTU) is a multi-disciplinary higher education institution with a distinct focus on transport and a great strength in engineering sciences. It currently has four primary discipline doctoral programs: Management Science and Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, and Civil Engineering. It has three national scientific research platforms (e.g. the State Key Laboratory of Mountain Bridge and Tunnel Engineering) and over 40 provincial and ministerial-level innovation platforms (such as Chongqing Key Laboratory for Smart Logistics Networks, Chongqing Engineering Research Centre of Smart Supply Chain, and Western China Transportation and Social-Economic Development Research Centre. The University has won 14 National Science and Technology Progress Awards and National Technological Invention Awards, as well as over 480 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological awards. The University enjoys exchanges and cooperation with nearly 100 overseas universities and institutes, mainly in Europe and America.
The MBA/MEM Education Centre of CQJTU offers MBA/MEM programs that serve the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Economic Circle.
